I’m a 15 year old male and I’m starting a routine for getting bigger. Every site about body building I’ve been to says to keep cardio at a minimal or no cardio at all because it could waste your efforts- I’m a skinny guy so I have no fat to lose. Although, I am a soccer player and I want seriously increase my sprinting/ running speed. I already do cardio 2- 3 times a week. I have soccer practice for 2 hours once a week, and on the weekends me and a bunch of other people play some intense soccer for a couple of hours. By time the soccer season kicks up I should be having more practices during the week, so that’s a lot of cardio- but none of it is specifically focused on sprinting- which is my main focus aside from building muscle. Will all this cardio that I’m doing really threaten my efforts and what can I do to work on my sprinting?

I started running a month ago. I am up to 20 miles per week. I have only lost 3 lbs but i know that i am building muscle. My clothes are looser and people are complimenting me. Also, my collar bone and shoulder blades are more prominent. I think that’s a big change in a month. I still have a long way to go though, I’m 20 lbs over what my weight should be. I have always had the problem where I don’t notice myself losing weight in the mirror. So, my question is, when beginning a running program, what parts of the body begin to look thinner?
